About the Author

Simon Collins has been Dean of Fashion at Parsons The New School for Design since 2008. As a designer, Collins has worked with some of the world's biggest brands, including Zegna, Marks and Spencer, Polo Ralph Lauren and Nike, where he led a $900 million clothing company that included collections he created with Junya Watanabe of Comme des Garçons and Naoki Takizawa of Issey Miyake.

Parsons The New School for Design is one of the world's leading art and design education institutions. Based in New York but active worldwide, the school offers undergraduate and graduate programs across the full spectrum of art and design disciplines. Critical thinking and collaboration are at the heart of a Parsons education.
