Our story

A family story

A century ago, Gary’s great-grandfather was already an upholsterer. His son took over and added the craft of decorator, in a workshop on Avenue de la Bourdonnais.

In 1996, Jacques Grinbaum founded JGS Decoration. Around his bespoke sofas, he brought together great furniture brands: from 2004, JGS Decoration was the exclusive distributor of Fendi Casa in France, followed by Vladimir Kagan, Ralph Lauren Home, Baker, Baccarat, Christian Lacroix, Missoni Home, Kenzo…

After Boulevard Haussmann, the family moved to 159 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, into a 250 m² showroom on three levels.

Creation

Jacques Grinbaum

A graduate of the École Boulle, Jacques guides clients and their architects through their interior design and decoration projects. He draws plans and models, then entrusts their making to our craftsmen.

A specialist in bespoke work, he can create a one-of-a-kind sofa, from the beechwood frame to the cutting, sewing and upholstery in fabric or leather. He has worked alongside and drawn inspiration from great names in design such as André and Jules Leleu, René Gruau and Vladimir Kagan.

Brands and projects

Gary Grinbaum

With a master’s degree in management science, Gary leads the company’s development. He handles the distribution of the brands entrusted to JGS Decoration, such as Ralph Lauren Home, Vladimir Kagan and Baker.

He has solid experience in managing renovation projects, and launched the e-shop to share our selection in France and abroad, from Japan to Australia by way of the Emirates.

Our craft

Our craft: ensemblier

Halfway between decorator, upholsterer, designer and artist, the ensemblier creates harmony between materials, colours and furniture. Bespoke sofas, daybeds, bookcases, lighting: each piece is chosen or created for a place and for a person.

Our work graces the interiors of Michelin-starred chefs, business leaders and discerning private clients, and even the boutiques of a great Place Vendôme jeweller. Our commitment to quality, comfort and promised lead times has earned the loyalty of professional and private clients alike.

Ensemblier: the art of bringing furniture together.
