Camels from Saudi Arabia book by Assouline
Description
Imagine the deserts of Saudi Arabia. Windswept sand dunes. Sculptural rock formations. And in the distance, a camel, standing boldly in the rays of the sun. Camels, and more particularly the dromedary, or one-humped camel, are an icon of the Arab landscape. Throughout Saudi Arabia's history, the camel has been depicted in poetry, art and legends.
Camels of Saudi Arabia bridges the gap between past and present by celebrating this magnificent creature and featuring original photography by Oliver Pilcher.

About the Author
Ghada AlMuhanna Abalkhail is a dedicated cultural and media advisor focusing on the visual history and identity of the Arabian Peninsula. After receiving her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Ghada began her career as a counterterrorism researcher. It was during this time that she recognized the need for a more authentic representation of the culture and heritage of the Arabian Peninsula. This realization inspired her to turn to media and public diplomacy, working with public and private entities to create narratives that truly reflect the region's rich history and identity.
As an MA candidate in Media and Visual Anthropology at HMWK Berlin, Ghada's work emphasizes storytelling, cultural preservation, and cultural exchange. Her passion for the region's identity drives her to use her Twitter and Instagram accounts to tell the stories of the Arabian Peninsula, reclaim its narrative, and challenge misconceptions. Ghada's unique expertise, combined with her passion for creative and careful writing, allows her to create engaging content that resonates with multiple audiences across various platforms.
