Relaxed Luxury Book by Assouline
Description
In fashion, people talk about "quiet luxury". In interior design, it is time to discover "relaxed luxury", a contemporary decorative trend defined by the renowned architect and designer Chad Dorsey, who details its principles in Relaxed Luxury. This book presents more than a dozen of the most iconic projects by this long-time Texan carried out over the last two decades, accompanied by his advice (ranging from the choice of paint colors to tips for saving space), his reflections and his mood boards to help you recreate at home the elegance of a high-end casual style.
Readers will be able to visit penthouse retreats, historic homes and modern bungalows across Texas, while discovering an influential voice in American design and the creator of an original aesthetic that has captured the imagination of an entire country.
"Relaxed luxury is the idea of living surrounded by objects that you love to touch and feel, in an accessible way, without being precious," Dorsey explains. "This relaxed luxury is subtle. Often silent, it can go unnoticed, but those with an eye will appreciate its details and the soothing feeling it provides."
