Vladimir Kagan's Shorty sofa was launched in 1990 in response to customer demand for a more compact alternative to the iconic Serpentine, with proportions designed to accentuate its signature curves while maintaining a more modest size.

This adaptation was developed as the ideal solution for small spaces, inspired by Kagan's experience with the challenge of furnishing New York apartments. Although smaller than the original Serpentine model, the Shorty retains a unique silhouette, layering dramatic curved shapes without compromising its style.

  • Handcrafted by highly skilled artisans in the United States.
  • The kiln-dried solid maple internal frames are made to order for exceptional durability.
  • Construction with hand-tied eight-way springs in the seat and a sculpted backrest, padded with multiple layers of multi-density foam for even comfort.
  • All materials are cut, shaped, and fitted by hand.
  • Adherence to traditional craftsmanship ensures heritage-worthy quality, while the use of modern materials and techniques ensures longevity and performance.
  • Exposed wooden bases are available in maple, oak, or walnut, or with a metal veneer in a chrome or brass finish.
  • Hand-applied finish with a traditional oil-based varnish to enhance the natural luster of the wood.
  • The seat extends beyond the backrest to form a rounded ottoman extension.
  • Equipped with contract-grade stainless steel glides.

Delivery within Paris

Paris and nearby suburbs (up to 10 km from the showroom): €39, by courier or by our team. We confirm the date as soon as we receive your order.

Delivery on quotation

For French overseas territories and countries without an online rate, choose “Delivery on quotation” (“Livraison sur devis”) at checkout: delivery to the freight forwarder of your choice in France or Europe, or a full study for delivery to your door. We contact you with options and costs before anything is shipped: nothing leaves without your approval.

Customs

Packaging, tracking and delivery

  • Every order is carefully packed, with extra protection for fragile pieces. Palletised lighting is delivered by appointment.
  • As soon as your order ships, you receive your tracking number by e-mail.
  • On delivery, check the parcel in front of the driver. If it is damaged, write precise reservations on the delivery note, or refuse it if the damage is unacceptable, then let us know as soon as possible, with photos.
